Foundation Donates Homes to Eligible Servicemembers

Military Warriors Support Foundation, a nonprofit organization, dedicated to assisting military members as they transition to civilian life, provides a number of services and programs designed to help military members as they transition to civilian life. One of the programs involves donating homes to eligible applicants. Since inception of the program, Homes4WoundedHeroes, in 2010, more than 150 mortgage-free homes have been donated across the continental U.S. A free 3-year financial and family mentorship that helps the families understand the fundamentals of home ownership is included with the home.

Now, in California, combat wounded veterans and unmarried Gold Star spouses of OIF/OEF can apply on line to Military Warriors Support Foundation for these newly-renovated, 100% mortgage-free homes in Bakersfield, Crescent City, Riverbank, Sacramento and Stockton, California. To be eligible applicants must be honorably retired or separated from the military and must not currently have a mortgage. They will also consider active service members with compelling situations, who are less than 90 days from retirement or separation, may be considered.

You can get more information about the homes currently available by going to the Military Warriors Support Foundation's website, www. http://www.militarywarriors.org/openhomes. You can complete an application at www.militarywarriors.org/openapplication.
